He captained the British Wushu Team for ten years and has enjoyed a successful career in European and World championships. In 2019 he received his 7th Duan from Beijing Sports University for his 30 years commitment to Daoyin Yang Sheng Gong and in 2003 was entered into the “Combat hall of fame” in recognition of his dedication to the development of Martial arts around the world.

Barry McGinlay | Founder of Tai Chi Life and is a professional Taijiquan teacher.

Barry is Competition Director for Longfei Taijiquan Association and has won over 200 medals in national and international championships. He has won push hands World Championships and European Championships at four different weight categories, represented Great Britain in the World Kick Boxing Championships and won the British Open San Shou (full contact) gold medal. Barry has studied in China and his teachers include Li Deyin, Wang Yanji, Huo Dongli and Hu Xiao Fei. He has also studied Xing Yi Quan and Bagua Zhang. Andrew Austin | Co-founder of the Zheng Dao Lo Martial Arts Academy.

Andrew has successfully represented Great Britain in tournaments across the globe, winning many medals in both Taijiquan and Taijijian. He wrote A Beginners’ Guide to Tai Chi and was the first British athlete to compete in the ‘new optional forms’, where five ‘difficulties’ are included in each customized routine. Andrew took part in the 2014 First World Taijiquan Tournament in the ‘City of Taiji’ - Cheng Du. In 2009, he was introduced to the Ma Tsun Kuen method of Taijiquan, named after the founder of the style. Intrigued by the philosophy and concepts, Andrew travelled around the world to learn from the current head of the system, Fernando Chedel. Andrew is a consummate martial artist and excels in both Shaolin and Wudang styles.

Emma Lee | Longfei Taijiquan Association’s Competition Team Captain.
Emma has been practising for 20 years and has had an illustrious career in competition representing Team Longfei, winning over 50 gold medals in over 30 competitions and World, European and British Championship titles in pushing hands, and hand and weapon forms. Emma has travelled to China several times to train with Li Deyin, as well as to Japan to build relations with the Japanese Taijiquan Friendship Association.
