    Simon has been studying and practicing Dao Yin since 1989 and in 2019 was awarded his 7th Duan from Beijing University for Physical Education, for his 31years commitment and dedication, which he received personally from Professor Zhang.

    Simon has written several publications on the subject of Dao Yin and has been given permission by Prof Hu Xiao Fei for them to be available to foreign students at Beijing University Daoyin Faculty. Simon coached the 2010 winning team at the 10th Health Qigong Competition in Beijing. The team won the gold medal for their performance and along with the English Daoyin Association founder Richard Watson was delighted when eight of its members attained their 4th Duan qualifications in Dao Yin Yang Sheng Gong.

    The English Daoyin Association presently numbers 50 instructors and well in excess of 3,000 students and is continuing to grow.

    The 12 step Dao Yin Yang Sheng Gong Health Preservation Exercises created by Prof Zhang are from the series published by The Chinese Health Qigong Association. The seminar will be open to both Dao Yin Yang Sheng Gong and Health Qigong practitioners of all levels with the aim of;

    • Gaining a deeper understanding of Professor Zhang’s methods, techniques, characteristics and the principles associated with the 12 – Step Daoyin Form.
    • Giving the attendees an insight into the relationship of the three fundamental characteristics of Daoyin: The Physical Movements including the subtlety and quality of posture; the involvement of the Mind (your thought) and the importance of the Breath which unites both movement and thought.

    The seminar will be conducted in a friendly and informal manner and will be held over two sessions to enable both teacher and students to delve deeper into this fascinating subject. It will also allow attendees a chance to make notes and raise queries and questions surrounding topics such as; physical, medical, philosophical and cultural subjects relating to Dao Yin.
