Professor Zhang Guande

A warm welcome: Professor Zhang with Richard and Simon Watson at the Daoyin Centre of the University of Physical Education, Beijing

As mentioned in Simon's report, the China trip included the successful visit to Professor Zhang Guande at the University of Physical Education. This opportunity was fostered and supported by Diana Choy. The visit was both instructional and inspiring and after three days' intensive training and examination, Simon was awarded his 6th Duan. I was made a Disciple and awarded a 6th Duan for my efforts promoting Daoyin Yangsheng Gong throughout the United Kingdom for the past 19 years. I am pleased to report that Diana was also granted Discipleship for her work in the United States. Professor Zhang was very enthusiastic about Simon's work and he has been invited back for further study.

Invitation to study at the University of Physical Education

Professor Zhang has invited us to bring a body of teachers to study with him for a period of time (not yet specified) and to be examined and receive the 4th Duan. We hope to make this a firm proposition for our next trip to Beijing in 2010. To make this financially viable we would require at least 15 teachers/students to participate. The University of Physical Education in Beijing is probably the most important and significant of its kind in China. After training with the professor the examination and the award would be made at the university. More information for this proposal will be available in the future. If you would like to take part in this adventure and receive the certification and the blessing of the university please watch this space.
