This book appears as the conversation between Huang Di, the legendary Yellow Emperor, and a gathering of his ministers and physicians. The discussion is about Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and one can assume it is essential reading for all students and practitioners of TCM. In the text there is mention of four kinds of masters for health preservation.
In the last issue we looked at genuine man and supreme man.
There were also sages. They lived in harmony with heaven and earth and submitted to the rules of the eight winds and adapted to all climatic changes. They adopted hobbies and desires to the ordinary world, and did not harbour anger and resentment. Their thoughts and behaviour were away from vulgar people although they dwelt in the ordinary world. They kept tranquil, optimistic and contented. Their bodies were not fatigued by matters outside and their minds were not perturbed within. Their bodies were not dissipated. Their essence and spirit were conserved. Their life span could reach a hundred years.
