Huang Di Nei Jing

The Medical Classic of the Yellow Emperor

This book appears as the conversation between Huang Di, the legendary Yellow Emperor, and a gathering of his ministers and physicians. The discussion is about Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and one can assume it is essential reading for all students and practitioners of STCM. In the text there is mention of four kinds of masters for health preservation.

In the last issue we looked at the genuine man.

No 2: Supreme man according to Huang Di

There was supreme man in the middle ancient times who possessed upright virtues and skilled health care. They adapted themselves to changes in the yin and yang and the four seasons. Staying aloof from the secular world, they accumulated the essences and protected their spirit. Their thoughts roamed between heaven and earth. Their watching and listening reached the eight directions. As a result they prolonged their lives and strengthened their bodies following in the footsteps of the genuine men.

Interesting comment: watching and listening reached eight directions straight out of the Krishnamurti handbook me thinks? Vast implications. What do you think?
